About M&S Consulting

M&S Consulting is an enterprise technology and business systems integrator that has delivered ERP, cloud and custom platform programs since 2002. With 250+ consultants and headquarters in Morgantown, WV, we pair small-business agility with large-business capability. Our Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) practice gives clients an objective read on quality and risk across multi-vendor programs, and we roll up our sleeves to help fix what we find.

Role Overview

We are hiring an experienced NetSuite ERP Consultant, an ERP configuration and development specialist with strong financial systems expertise, to lead the implementation, configuration and enhancement of enterprise ERP platforms. You will split your time between IV&V engagements, where you verify that complex ERP implementations are built right and do the right thing, and delivery work, where you design, configure, integrate and develop in NetSuite yourself. The role blends functional finance knowledge with technical configuration and development skill, so a strong finance background is essential: you will be trusted to judge whether a design actually supports the close, the controls and the reporting a finance team depends on.

Key Responsibilities

IV&V and Advisory

  • Plan and prepare for project kickoff: help clients define the IV&V approach, scope, success criteria, and quality and risk expectations before work begins.
  • Review vendor SOWs and proposals for clear scope, testable requirements, acceptance criteria, deliverables, assumptions and gaps.
  • Advise clients on NetSuite architecture, implementation approach, vendor selection and program governance, and flag risks early.
  • Verify and validate each stage of a NetSuite program: requirements, architecture and design, configuration and build, integration and testing, and go-live readiness.
  • Review data migration, integrations and the hand-offs between vendors and systems.
  • Give clients objective, evidence-based findings, then help resolve them. Work constructively alongside the prime, integrator and software vendors, and be ready to reinforce a vendor if needed.

Hands-on NetSuite Delivery

  • Lead full-lifecycle implementation of ERP systems (NetSuite, Certinia or similar platforms).
  • Configure ERP modules across finance, accounting, billing, revenue recognition, procure-to-pay and order-to-cash, including related workflows, roles and permissions.
  • Translate financial and business requirements into scalable ERP system designs.
  • Design and build custom solutions using platform tools, scripting and extensions, such as NetSuite SuiteScript and SuiteFlow workflows, custom records, saved searches and configuration tools.
  • Develop and support integrations with CRM, banking, billing, payroll and other third-party systems.
  • Perform data migration, cleansing, mapping and validation from legacy systems.
  • Build reports, dashboards and financial analytics to support FP&A and operational reporting.
  • Support testing, deployment, cutover planning and post-go-live stabilization, and keep improving ERP performance and scalability.
  • Apply financial controls and compliance requirements (GAAP, SOX) in system design.

Team and Client

  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Operations and IT stakeholders to optimize ERP workflows, and translate between finance and technical teams.
  • Provide technical leadership on ERP architecture, configuration standards and best practices.
  • Document designs, test results and findings clearly for client leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, information systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in ERP systems configuration, development or implementation.
  • Strong finance and accounting domain knowledge (GL, AP, AR, revenue recognition, billing), plus internal controls such as GAAP and SOX.
  • Hands-on NetSuite experience across financial and transactional modules, including configuration, workflows, scripting and customization.
  • Strong integration experience using APIs, middleware or iPaaS tools.
  • Experience with data migration and financial data mapping.
  • Experience with the full implementation lifecycle: requirements, design, build, testing and UAT, cutover and go-live.
  • Solution architecture experience, and the ability to translate business and finance requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and finance stakeholders, including the ability to deliver candid, objective findings to client executives with tact.
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments, and comfort in multi-vendor programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NetSuite SuiteScript, SuiteFlow and SuiteTalk experience, and NetSuite certifications such as ERP Consultant or SuiteCloud Developer.
  • Salesforce ecosystem integration experience (Salesforce to ERP).
  • Experience with revenue recognition and project accounting models, NetSuite OneWorld or SuiteBilling.
  • Multi-entity or global ERP implementations.
  • Experience with financial reporting tools or data warehouses.
  • CPA, MBA, finance degree or accounting background (a strong plus).
  • Experience with comparable platforms, such as Certinia, Oracle, SAP, Workday Financials or Acumatica.
  • Experience in consulting or systems integrator environments, including solution architect or workstream lead roles.
  • Exposure to IV&V, QA or test engineering practices, such as IEEE 1012.
  • Experience supporting public-sector or federal clients, and leading or mentoring consulting teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hybrid ERP functional and technical specialist who:

  • Understands finance deeply, not just systems.
  • Can configure and extend ERP platforms hands-on.
  • Bridges business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Has implemented or supported NetSuite, Certinia or similar ERP systems end to end.
  • Is comfortable owning solutions, not just executing tasks.
  • Can give clients objective IV&V findings and then help resolve them.

Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
